WATER AND SANITATION
Busia Municipality has no sewerage system. The population depends on the over crowded nondrainable/ non-emptiable pit latrines in densely populated urban setting (7,828 persons per sq. Km) leading to ground water contamination and high disease incidences.
Investment opportunities exist in developing a modern sewerage system and infrastructure.
