Innovation, Technology Development and Transfer
Innovation, Technology Development and Transfer Programme-aims to increase the application of appropriate technology in the production and service delivery processes
Innovation, Technology Development and Transfer is one of the 20 programmes of the NDPIII and it operationalises objective three to, “consolidate and increase the stock and quality of productive infrastructure”.
The Programme seeks to address key challenges which include:
- Enhanced development of appropriate technologies.
- Increased Research and Development (R&D) activities in the economy.
- Increased utilisation of appropriate technologies.
- An enabling environment for STEI created.
Therefore, the objectives of the programme are to:
- To develop requisite STI infrastructure.
- To build human resource capacity in STI.
- To strengthen R&D capacities and applications.
- To increase development, transfer and adoption of appropriate technologies and nurture the local innovation potential.
- To improve the legal and regulatory framework.
